They’re Such A Character: Finding Creative Freedom in the Persona Poem

A persona poem is a poem where the poem is written from the perspective of a character. The character can be anyone or anything -- from Wonder Woman to the Loch Ness Monster, from a cicada to a cello. By writing persona poems, we can shake up our poetic imagination and find and create space for other selves to emerge.

In this workshop, we’ll read some persona poems, we’ll do some prompts, and we’ll have some space to share what we’ve written for those who feel comfortable.
