Yellow Arrow will be collecting feminine hygiene products and diapers to benefit Sharebaby.org and isupportthegirls.org on August 15 from 11AM to 1PM!

About the organizations

ShareBaby “was founded in November of 2014 by three local moms who wanted to meet the desire of mothers to share their new or gently used baby items with the families that need them most. ShareBaby began collecting from friends and family and storing donations in their basements and garages. By the summer of 2015, they had distributed more than 14,000 items to children in need. In August of 2015, ShareBaby started Baltimore’s first diaper bank to meet this specific deficiency in public assistance to mother and babies. Since then, with the help of an army of volunteers, significant contributions from the local community and the support of national partners, ShareBaby has been able to significantly increase its impact on diaper need and material hardship in the lives of families with young children across Baltimore City. ShareBaby has set the goal of distributing 2 million essential items to Baltimore’s neediest young children by the close of 2019. At the same time, we hope that this expanding reach will enable us to further inform and effect change around the very serious issue of diaper insecurity.”

I Support the Girls “collects donations of new and gently used bras, and individually sealed tampons and maxi pads and distributes them to girls and women experiencing homelessness across the U.S. and globally. Bras are considered a luxury and wearing the same bra for years causes health problems. Many times living on the streets means having to decide between buying a hot meal or a box of tampons. No one should have to make that choice! Whether they be homeless, refugees, in transitional housing, or fleeing domestic violence, women and girls should never have to compromise on dignity. We partner with over 800 vetted organizations to meet the needs of the women we come in contact with. So far, more than 550,000 girls and women have been able to retain their dignity through our product drop-offs. People experiencing homelessness are stripped of their dignity. People pass them by on the street as if they’re invisible. Every person, regardless of their circumstances, is worthy of honor and respect. We need to treat every human with the respect they deserve. That starts with providing basic necessities for those who lack access or can’t afford it.”
