Join author Ariele Sieling as she delves into the intricacies of story and the craft of writing. She will be using Ursula K. Le Guin’s book titled Steering the Craft as the basis, with each workshop focusing on a new topic, including: a discussion of story, voice, grammar, syntax, repetition, words, person, tense, point of view, and more. Each workshop will include a short summary of Le Guin’s perspective on the topic, a discussion of the concept, and a writing exercise to take home with you. You can grab a copy of the book and read along, or you can just drop in and enjoy the sessions without.

This session will delve into the importance of grammar and punctuation, and how these elements can impact the meaning and flow of story.

Classes will be at 7:00 PM EST in Google Hangouts (for now!), on the third Tuesday of each month beginning on March 17, 2020 and ending on February 16, 2021. There are 12 workshops, each 1 hour long, at $20 each or $200 for the whole series (13 classes — that’s 20% off).

Ariele Sieling was born and raised in upstate New York, among the trees and her dad's honeybees. She began writing at a young age and hasn't stopped. Her first love is science fiction: she has three scifi series, Rove City, Land of Szornyek and The Sagittan Chronicles; a children's book series titled Rutherford the Unicorn Sheep; and numerous short stories published in a variety of anthologies and magazines. She has spoken on various topics related to writing and publishing at libraries all over NH, MA, and ME, and more recently for the Maryland Writers Association and Eastern Shore Writers Association.
